An Update from STIG

Thank you for subscribing, STIG have been very busy over the last few months and things are gaining momentum. We have featured on STV news, which incase you missed it can be watched on the left.

STV news clip featuring STIG members outlining why we are opposed to the construction of a new substation.

A substation with ongoing extension work is already in place approximately 500m from the proposed “Emmock” substation. The existing substation is visible from miles away and is glistening in the sun like a beacon due to lack of screening. Trees the size of twigs have been planted in a sad attempt of screening, half of which have been eaten by wildlife.

The proposed 3rd substation will destroy over 200 acres of arable farmland and countryside, not to mention the other proposed adjacent industrial projects, amounting to a total of over 1000 acres.

We are not objecting to renewable energy, but we do object to the way it is delivered.

Destruction of valuable farmland and Scottish countryside is not the way forward.

Please do not miss our community information event on the 27th June, 6-9pm, Tealing Village Hall.
