We’re absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news — Angus Council has once again stood with our community and rejected SSEN’s
planning application for its proposed Balkemback Farm 400kV AIS substation, following its decision in November to unanimously oppose the 400kV “super-pylon”, TKUP overhead line scheme.
These back-to-back decisions are a huge win for everyone who cared enough to speak up, write in, and push for protection of our landscape and way of life. Angus council received the largest number of objections to a planning application – EVER.
This amazing outcome simply wouldn’t have happened without your help. Your passion, perseverance, and refusal to be brushed aside made all the difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every resident who added their voice, every councillor who listened, turning shared concern into shared success. Let’s celebrate this moment — and stay ready for the next step as we push for a public enquiry to protect Angus for generations to come.
